Is your TikTok Shop live feeling a little too quiet…?

Let’s talk about why your TikTok Shop lives might not be getting the interaction you expect.

Sometimes it feels like your live room is packed, but no one’s talking.

No comments, no engagement, nada…

That’s exactly what happened to Jenivieve, one of our creators.

During our Affiliate Accelerator call, she opened up about her experience:

She had 2,000 people in her room, but it felt like no one was engaging.

So, what’s going on?

You might not believe this but actually, silence isn’t always a bad thing… 

Sometimes, people are just paying attention. 

They’re watching closely, maybe even shopping through your products in the background. 

When things go quiet, it could mean your audience is deep into what you're showing them.

As Rox, one of our coaches, put it:

"When viewers are quiet, they might just be busy shopping!"

Think about it. 

When you're in a store and get really interested in a product, do you chat up the sales rep? 

Nope, you focus on deciding if you want to buy.

Same goes for TikTok Shop lives. 

Your viewers might be so into your products, they don't want to break their concentration to type a comment.

But if you’re still looking to boost engagement, try this…

1. Ask simple questions:

• "Where are you watching from today?"

2. Tell viewers exactly what you want:

• "Click that like button if you're loving this product!"

• "Drop a 🔥 in the comments if you want to see more!"

3. Mix it up. If one tactic falls flat, try another.

Keep in mind, engagement isn’t the end-all-be-all. Sure, it helps, but it’s not the full picture.

In fact, Rox pointed out that sometimes, 80-100 engaged viewers can lead to more sales than 2,000 lurkers. Quality over quantity!

And finally, don’t compare your live to others. 

Those super chatty lives? They might have a whole team behind the scenes.
