Why it works

The video opens with a common problem (dirty toilet) but includes a safety warning to trigger an emotional response.

To use this hook in your videos, first determine what problem your product solves.

Then, think backwards and come up with an incorrect or dangerous way that someone else might be solving this problem (the wrong way).

For example, let’s say we’re promoting a Biotin supplement that helps with hair growth.

We could start our video with something along the lines of:

“Do NOT use pure essential oils directly on your scalp if you’re trying to grow your hair…”

“I had no idea that this can actually permanently damage your hair follicles - despite what many people say…”
