TikTok Partners with Amazon 😲

I did not see this coming…

When TikTok initially launched Shop, it appeared as if they were about to go toe-to-toe with Amazon…

But now these two would-be competitors are teaming up!

TikTok is now allowing users to buy directly from Amazon ads without leaving the app!

So, what does this mean for you as a creator…?

And why is TikTok partnering up with what would seem to be their number 1 competitor…

Let’s Break it Down…

The announcement was quite generic, and we are still unclear of the details of this partnership, but as a creator - this means one thing:

Social commerce is the future.

The skillset of creating content that can sell a product is only going to be more in demand.

Now, here’s my take on this whole situation…

Remember back in April when Biden signed into law that:

ByteDance will have until January 19, 2025, to divest from TikTok’s U.S. operations or the app will be banned from U.S. app stores…

TikTok of course counter-sued and is fighting this, arguing that this law violates the First Amendment…

But maybe TikTok is also working on a plan B in case they end up losing the case…

What if TikTok is starting to plant the seeds for a potential sale to Amazon down the road…
