TikTok Shop hooks are evolving...

In our recent Affiliate Accelerator coaching call, Alyssa shared her foolproof strategy for creating hooks that helped to generate over $2M in GMV this year…

She calls it the "Trifecta Viral Hook."

It's a powerful combination of three elements: verbal, visual, and text.

These three elements work together to grab attention and spark curiosity in the first few seconds making your video nearly impossible to ignore.

So, how do you create a hook that keeps people watching? Let’s break it down:

1. Verbal Hook

The first thing you say can make or break your video.

Skip the boring intros and say something bold and unexpected.

Avoid the classic “Hey guys, I just wanted to hop on here and tell you about…” 

Instead, go for something like:

“You won’t believe what just happened to me!”

This type of statement immediately grabs attention and makes viewers want to know more.

Here's the thing - your hook doesn't have to be about your product.

In fact, it's often more effective if it isn't.

The goal is to spark curiosity, you're not selling yet. You're just trying to get people hooked.

2. Visual Hook

What you show is just as important as what you say.

Try doing something out of the ordinary — something that looks interesting.

Tip: Use quick cuts and zooms to keep your audience’s attention locked in.

The key here is to create a visual that makes people stop scrolling.

Whether it's a striking image, an unusual action, or a quick series of cuts, your visual hook should demand attention.

3. Text Hook

Your on-screen text shouldn’t give away the whole story.

Instead, use something that triggers curiosity or evokes emotion.

For example, try something like “This might be the strangest thing I’ve ever done” — it sounds dramatic, right?

That’s exactly the point. It grabs attention without revealing everything.

You could even misspell words intentionally to get people talking.

Yes, you read that right: people love correcting mistakes!

Pro Tip: Be Bold & Unexpected

Don’t be afraid to say something strange or even irrelevant. If it sparks curiosity, it works!

Hooks that make people stop and think, “What did I just hear?” are the most effective.

When all three elements of the Trifecta Viral Hook work together, you create an opening that's nearly impossible to scroll past. 😉😉😉
